Our Team

Rev. Dr. Brian Kirby is an American from North Carolina who has spent his ministry career in Paris, Bangkok, Rome and greater Washington DC. He is also a leader in the International Baptist Convention. His Doctor of Ministry is in Theology and the Arts from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC. He and Denise have been married for more than 25 years and their daughter, Analisse, is a university student. He loves snowboarding, cycling and music.

Lucas is a German-Brazilian (more Brazilian than German) husband to Stefanie and soon to be father. He has been serving at the IBC Berlin since 2005. Lucas loves playing and watching soccer, skiing, playing board games and hanging out with friends (especially if there is food involved).

Samuel, originally from DR Congo, is a husband to Priscillia and father of two boys and a girl. He’s served in various ministries at IBC Berlin since 2014, a year after he and his family joined the congregation. Samuel enjoys trying new recipes together with Priscillia, his wife, taking his boys cycling, joining them for their soccer games and reading memoirs.

Since moving to Berlin from Malawi in September 2021, Derek and Deliwe Lakudzala have found IBCB a friendly church. With a background in physics and computing, Derek was a consultant before moving to Berlin. His hobbies are computer chess and listening to various sorts of music. Derek and Deliwe wedded in December 1986. They have three boys called Chimwemwe, Chisomo, and Chiyembekezo—joy, grace, and hope. Derek hopes to enrich church life as an IBCB prayer team member.

Earl is from the UK and has been attending IBC since he moved to Berlin to study physics in 2014. He has been involved in various ministries during his time at the church and, in addition to his role as a deacon, Earl leads the young adults ministry alongside his wife Vilma and teaches teenagers in their classes on Sundays. Earl enjoys sports, reading, travelling, and good food!

Gabriel, born in Romania and raised in Spain, is married to Carolina and is a proud father of two, a girl and a boy. 

Gabriel works in Finance, and actually loves working with numbers. His other passions are sports and movies. Since joining IBC Berlin he has served in several ministries most recently in the teen ministry and as a deacon.

Kenya is an American from Georgia. She’s married to Mathias and they have three teenagers. She has a heart for the IBCB family and a warrior’s heart for service. She loves doing the work behind the scenes that needs to be done to help the church to continue to run smoothly.

Kim is a California native who moved to Berlin in 1989 to marry her husband, Knut. She has three grown children; her two daughters live in California and her son lives in Berlin. Kim has been an active member of IBC Berlin for over 25 years and has facilitated the women’s Bible study for 15 years. She enjoys going on long walks with her Goldendoodle, practicing her golf game, and reading historical fiction.

Born and raised near Dessau. 

Moved to Berlin in 1997 to pursue my degree in law and business. I became a member of IBCB in 2001 after being baptized. I married my wonderful wife Kenya, and together, we are raising three beautiful children.

I am grateful for my family and friends at IBCB and love being able to worship with them.

Agbebi is originally from Nigeria but has lived for many years in Berlin. He likes to travel, cook and eat! He loves serving, both in church and community, and caring for the things of God. 

The Word of God is his strength!

Vilma Davis is originally from El Salvador and moved to Berlin in 2013 to pursue her studies in Business. Since then, she's been actively involved at IBC, where she serves as a member of the deacon's council and leads the young adults ministry alongside her husband, Earl. Vilma enjoys traveling, going to the cinema and playing the guitar

Belinda Badu-Roth is a Ghanian who has been living in Berlin, Germany since 1992; she has been attending IBC for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc)  in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is  a mother of three who enjoys reading and travelling.  Belinda is passionate for the things of the Lord, and serving her church community. She has served as Head of the Counting Team since 2015.

Carolina, born in Colombia, is married to Gabriel , and a proud mother of two.

She is a psychologist focused on child development and attachment who enjoys books and long conversations over a coffee. She also loves spending time in the nature with her family. 

Currently Carolina serves as the Teens ministry leader.

Lana is a Mongolian researcher who relocated to Germany in 2024 to begin a new chapter with her family. She is a devoted mother, wife, and a passionate researcher striving to live out her faith each day. Fluent in Mongolian, English, Russian, and Korean, she is currently learning German. If you speak any of these languages, don't hesitate to say hi!

Phebe is an Indian who moved to Berlin in 2021. She is married to Bibin and they have 2 kids, a son and a daughter. She loves music, paper crafting, crime thrillers and cooking.

Piet, originally from South Africa, has been in IBCB for 18 years and is married with two children.  He has been on the finance team for 11 years and also serves on the sound team.  He is passionate about rugby, and is proud to support the two-times-in-a-row Rugby World Cup champions (Springboks).

Charis grew up in Chicago, but Berlin has been her home for many years already. She is married to David and has a grown son and daughter and one young granddaughter. Her favorite hobbies are reading, music (including singing in a concert choir), taking care of her dog, and traveling.
